SOUTH BEND - Ruby M. Russell, 84, of South Bend, passed
away at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2008, in her home,
surrounded by family. Ruby was born on March 10, 1923, in
Florence, AL to the late Grant and Caldona (Smith) Stricklin.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Clifton Stacy;
her second husband, Vern Russell; five brothers and three
sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Mills
of South Bend; four sons, Travis (Mary) Stacy of South Bend,
Jason (Beatrice) Stacy of Osceola, Larry (Christina) Stacy of
Sanford, NC, and Jimmy (Susan) Stacy of Mishawaka; 37
grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 17
great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister,
Laura Haynes of Athens, AL and special friends, Carolyn
Metheny and Ricky Watson, both of South Bend.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Sister Wilma Creech, Pastor of Mt. Zion Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
