South Bend Tribune 2/7/1927

Sister Domairilla CSC, member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, who has been in the community at St. Mary’s since 1886, died Saturday morning in the college, following an illness of several months. She received her habit in 1874, a year after coming to this country from Ireland. She was professed in 1877 and then sent to St. Catherine’s Normal Institute in Baltimore, returning to St. Mary’s in 1886, where she has been stationed since that time. By reason of her long residence she was one of the best known and most beloved sisters in the community. She was in charge of St. Rita’s dormority at St. Mary’s Academy until a year ago when the academy was moved to the old college building. Since that time she was in charge of the first floor of the academy.

Requiem mass will be at 8:30 a.m. this morning in the Chapel of Loretto, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. this afternoon.

Editor: From St. Mary’s archives her bapitsmal name was Margaret Russell.
