SOUTH BEND - Peter J. Russo, 84, of
Southernview Drive, died at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center. Mr. Russo was a retired barber. He was born May
23, 1911, in Chicago and lived in South Bend since 1977.
On March 15, 1933, in Waukegan, Ill., he
married Genevieve Brice. She survives with a daughter,
Joanne Mitchell of Lamar, Ark.; two sons, John of Granger
and Richard of Pompano Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. He was a volunteer at the Virginia Tutt
Branch of the St. Joseph County Public Library and St. Joseph's
Medical Center and member of First Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday
in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Cremation
has taken place. Friends may call before services in the funeral
home. Memorial contributions may be made to Blind &
Physically Handicapped Services of Elkhart Public Library, 300 S.
Second St., Elkhart, IN 46516.
