C. Jean Kronewitter Rusticus

Oct. 2, 1924 - Nov. 2, 2002

Jean Kronewitter Rusticus, 78, of E. Lawrence St., Mishawaka, passed away in her daughter's home after an extended illness. Jean was born on October 2, 1924, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to John and Elsie Martello. She moved to Indiana as a child. On February 20, 1943, she married Lewis Kronewitter, who preceded her in death in 1980. In 1981 she married Marvin Rusticus, who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Vennetta Rickel.

Jean worked thirty-five years at Uniroyal, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed many years of retirement, wintering in Florida. She had many friends with which she played endless hours of cards.

Jean is survived by three children: two daughters, Sandra (Merv) Phillips of Oceanside, California, and Donna (Doug) Dickens of South Bend, and one son, John (Ann) Kronewitter of Mishawaka. Also surviving are five grandsons, John P. Kronewitter of Clayton, Missouri, J.R. (Marie) Phillips of Carlsbad, California, Joseph (Stacy) Kronewitter of Buckley, Michigan, Clinton (Carol) Dickens of Mishawaka and Shawn Dickens of South Bend. They were the joy of her life. Jean is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Clinton and Theresa Dickens, Ellen, Emily and Joseph Kronewitter, and Reagan Phillips. She has two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law surviving.

Her grandson, Rev. Joseph Kronewitter, from the Faith Community Church of the Nazarene in Buckley, Michigan, will officiate her funeral. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2002, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 4th. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
