SOUTH BEND - Bernice A. Rutkowski,
74, of South 30th Street, died at 6:30 a.m. today in her home.
Mrs. Rutkowski retired from Associates Corp. She was born July
26, 1921, in South Bend.
On Sept. 13, 1941, in South Bend, as Bernice
Lechtanski, she married Stephen Rutkowski. He survives
with three daughters, Patricia Bowles of Lexington, Ky.,
Janet Heishman of Plymouth and Debra Jean Hemingway
of Seattle; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Tillie Pilarski and Harriet Konopinski,
both of South Bend; and a brother, Alex Lechtanski of South Bend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum of St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
