Sister Austina CSC, died at Saint Mary’s Convent Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She was born in County Thurles, Ireland in 1885. She came to America in 1906 and entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross, receiving her habit in 1906. She made her professional vows in 1908. She was assigned to Salt Lake City; Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; and at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend. She also served as a member of the General Council and as former stewardess of St. Mary’s Convent, where she had been stationed since 1955. Surviving is a brother Patrick Ryan of New York City.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
