Sister M. Teresa Joseph CSC, 77, of St. Mary’s Convent, died Friday afternoon in the convent after a lengthy illness. Born on Jan. 20, 1898 in Danville, Ill., as Agnes Helen Ryan, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 2, 1919, coming from Danville. She was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1920 and made her profession of vows on Jan. 6, 1922. She was a musice teacher and served in schools in Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, California and Illinois before coming to live at St. Mary’s Convent. She is survived by a niece, Sister M. Eleanore CSC of Alexandria, VA.

 

Services will be at 10a.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, on the campus. Friends may call today in the convent parlors where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
