SOUTH BEND - Sylvia M. Saberniak, 85, passed away on
Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, at 12:05 a.m. in Regency Place, South Bend.
She was born on May 23, 1923, in Galien, MI, to the late Earl and
Anna (Straub) Roundy. On December 4, 1948, she
married Mitchell Saberniak, who passed away on August 17, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Russell
and Arthur Roundy. Sylvia is survived by her two sons, Michael
(Bernice) Saberniak of Elkhart, IN, and Mark (Becky) Saberniak of
South Bend; nine grandchildren, Mitchell, Steven, Ashley and
Samantha Saberniak, Christopher and Nicholas Tobin, Jasmine Linn,
Brad and Eric Sarber; and by six great-grandchildren, Kirsten,
Jamie, Damien, Dominick, Trevor and Corbin. She enjoyed
crocheting, knitting and sewing. and her pets.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
