Cheryl Ann (Vitou) Samarich, 47, passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, in her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1955, in South Bend, Ind., as the daughter of Arthur L. and Dona S. (Smith) Vitou, and had been a lifelong resident of South Bend. She graduated from LaSalle High School in 1973. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur L. Vitou on Aug. 1, 2000.

 

On Sept. 8, 1979, in the Century Center, South Bend, she married Millard B. Samarich. She is survived by her loving husband, Millard; her daughter, Angela Ann Samarich at home; and her son, David E. Samarich, also at home; her mother, Dona S. Vitou of Elkhart, Ind.; a sister, Carol (David) Wozniak of Granger, Ind.; two brothers, Michael (Barbara) Vitou of Middlebury, Ind., and Barry (Cindy) Vitou of Elkhart; her mother-in-law, Doris Samarich of Mishawaka, Ind.; three sisters-in-law, Mitzi Rickhoff and Judy DeDonato, both of South Bend, and Sally Sprong of Michigan City, Ind.; a brother-in-law, John Samarich of South Bend; and by five nieces and eight nephews.

 

Cheryl was co-owner with her husband of A-Appliance Sales & Service, Mishawaka. She was a fun-loving person who always had a smile on her face whenever you saw her. She was very bubbly, and never knew a stranger. The most important things in her life were her family, and her dog and cats.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
