SOUTH BEND - Charles A. Sarka, 83, of
East Eckman Street, died at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's
Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Sarka retired in 1976 from
Torrington Co., after 47 years. He was born April 25, 1911, in
South Bend.
On Sept. 22, 1934, in South Bend, he married
Ann B. Radics. She survives, with two daughters, Carolyn O'Shaughnessy
of Dearborn, Mich., and Charlene Barnette of Indianapolis;
six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph
of Roswell, Ga.
Memorial services will be at noon Saturday
in St. Matthew Cathedral. Cremation will take place. There will
be no visitation. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity
