SOUTH BEND – Stanley J. Satkowski Jr., 63 of 2209 Council Oak Drive, died at 5:10 Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center. He retired in 1985 as a machinist for Gibbs Wire & Steel after 25 years of service. He was born Oct. 30, 1923 in South Bend.

 

On Sept. 15, 1951, in South Bend, he married the former Alice Szymanski. She died Nov. 1, 1978. On March 28, 1981 in South Bend, he married the former Muerle Campbell, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Gail Armor of South Bend; two step-daughters, Carolyn McKenna and Diana Scheuer, both of South Bend; a son, Terry of Kent, Wash; a stepson, Jim Campbell of South Bend; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Krill and Dorothy Haughton, both of South Bend. A son Steven died in 1966.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, American Legion Post 50 and Veterans of foreign Wars Post 624. He was a veteran of World War II and a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center or the St. Joseph County Heart Association.

 

Services for Stanley J. Satkowski Jr., 63 of 2209 Council Oak Drive, died at 5:10 Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call until 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center or the St. Joseph County Heart Association.
