SOUTH BEND - Evelyn Mae Scarbrough, 84, formerly of Walkerton, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Scarbrough was born July 4, 1923, in Starke County, IN, to William E. and Louise Mabel (Parsons) Clemmons, and had lived in South Bend for four years, coming from Walkerton.

 

On July 5, 1941, in Knox, she was married to Dale Scarbrough, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jackie (David) Frazier of Wabash, IN, and Jeanne (Gail) Ross of South Bend; a son, Dale W. (Phylliss) Scarbrough of Peoria, AZ; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sara Hudson of Grovertown; and a brother, James (Deloris) Frett of Grovertown. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, six brothers and two sisters. She was a homemaker.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. EST on Friday in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. EST Thursday and after 11 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Scarbrough may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
