Clem L. Schafer

October 19, 1894 – February 5, 1981

Clem L. Schafer, 86, of 64461 Miami Road, Bremen, died at 6:20am today in Bremen Community Hospital after a three-week illness.  He was a farmer.

Born on October 19, 1894, in Union Twp, St Joseph County, he had lived in this area all his life.  On December 1, 1929, in South Bend, he married Marie E. Maggert, who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Lynch of Garden Grove CA; a son, Paul of Bremen; three grandchildren; a great grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Leona Good of Culver.

Services will be at 10:30am Saturday in the Palmer Memorial Chapel, Lakeville Christian Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to9pm Friday in the funeral home, where Masonic memorial services will be at 7pm Friday.  He was a member of Lakeville Lodge 353, F & AM
