SOUTH BEND - Brother Eamon (Kenneth) Schaffer CSC, 91, died at Dujarie House, Notre Dame, on November 8, 2007. He was born in Beloit, Kansas, and entered St. Joseph's Novitiate, Rolling Prairie, on August 15, 1916. Brother Eamon graduated from the University of Notre Dame and began his teaching career at Holy Trinity High School in Chicago. He also taught in New Orleans and Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a teacher of Latin and a librarian at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California, from 1958-2007. He is survived by two brothers, Albert and Loran Schaffer of Beloit, Kansas, and by many nieces and nephews.

 

Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. today (Tuesday, November 13) in Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel, Dujarie House, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 and burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Notre Dame, following the Mass.
