Harvey Edward Schalliol

Harvey Edward Schalliol, 73, of 130 Fremont, died today in General Hospital, where he was admitted June 8.

 

Born June 11, 1984 in Madison Township, St. Joseph County, he married LaVirge Ann Field on Aug. 9, 1912. He lived most of his life in the Elkhart area. He retired from the New York Central Railroad as a stationary fireman. He was employed there 41 years, part of that time as an engineer. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Esther) Rinehart, Elkhart; two sons, Winfred W. (Bud) Schalliol and Will  L. Schalliol of Lafayette; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Amos Hoover of Wyatt, Mrs. Herbert Fredericks of Wakarusa and Mrs. Irene Ehert, Lagrange, and three brothers, C. Roscoe Schalliol of Elkhart, Jesse H. of Lakeville and Vernon W. of Wakarusa.

 

Friends may call at the White Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. L. Wayne Paulen, pastor Trinity Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. He was a member of the Trinity Church.
