Jacob Schalliol

Jacob Schalliol, 79, a farmer living files miles west and one mile north of Wakarusa, died last night at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. Four weeks age Mr. Schalliol had broken his left hip on a fall on the ice at his home and had been in the Hospital since that time. He was born in Germany, the son of Zdavid and Margaret Schalliol. When four years old he went to Ohio with his parents and later moved to the vicinity of his home.

 

He had lived in Madison Township, St. Joseph County, since his marriage in 1876. His wife died last fall. Five children, Louise, Anna and Edward, all at home, Charles of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Will Stickel of Osceola survive him. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and two brothers, Julius and August of six miles northwest of Wakarusa.

 

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the home and at 2 p.m. at the Zion Envangelical Church near his home, of which he was a member. The Rev. J. F. Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, St. Joseph County, nearby.

 

Editor: His wife was Mary Elizabeth Horein and she died in St. Joseph County 9-9-1928.
