Mary Elizabeth Schalliol

Nov. 2, 1854 – Sept. 9, 1928

Mrs. Jacob Schalliol, age 74, of Madison Township, near Woodland, this county, died in her home Sunday morning following a six-months illness with complications. She was born Nov. 2, 1854, a member of a family of 21 children.

 

Surviving are her two sons, Charles D. of Mishawaka and Edward, at home; three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Stickle of Oseola, and Louise and Anna, at home; seven brothers Jacob Horein of Wakarusa, Joseph Horein of Madison Township, Philip and David Horein of Elkhart, Henry and Julius Horein of Bremen, Ind., and Charles Horein of Mishawaka; and three sisters, Mrs. William Schafter and Mrs. George Schafer of Madison Township and Mrs. A. Wilkenson of Minnesota.

 

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the residence and 2:30 p.m. in the Zion’s church. Madison Township, with the Rev. F. Krueger, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Madison Township.

 

Editor: She was born in Madison Township, the daughter of Christian Horein and Catherine Marker. She married Jacob Schalliol in 1876 and he survives. He died 2-21-1929 in Madison Township.
