Roscoe Calvin Schalliol

Roscoe Schalliol , 85, of Nappanee died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in Fountainview Place Nursing Home. He had been in ill health for five weeks and died of a stroke.

 

He was born Sept. 6, 1892 in Madison Township, St. Joseph County IN. He married Oma Floy Domer June 28, 1913. She died Mar. 30, 1963. He then married Gertrude Young, June 30, 1968. She survives with two sons, Julius R., Santa Ana, Calif., and Eugene of Elkhart; two daughters, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Loney and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Bertch, both of Elkhart; five step-sons, Forest Young and Lowell Young, both of Bremen, Dale Young, of Bourbon, and Kenneth and Robert Young, both of Nappanee; two step-daughters, Mrs. Milo (Lois) Mellinger of Nappanee and Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Gazley of Sturgis; one brother, Vernon of Wakarusa; three sisters, Mrs. Alva Hoover of Wyatt, Mrs. Irene Ehert, LaGrange, and Mrs. Herbert (Dora) Fredericks of Wakarusa; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren’ six step grandchildren and on great-great-grandson.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wright-Yoder Funeral Hoem, sher services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Noah Knepp of Hepton Union Church will officiate and burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.

 

He was employed 29 years as a repairman at General American Transport Company of Elkhart.
