Walter Edward Schalliol

MISHAWAKA - Walter E. Schalliol, 78, of 221 S. Cleveland Street, a Mishawaka resident his entire lifetime, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital following a seven month illness. He taught school in Madison Township for several years before he was employed at the Ball Band plant where he retried in 1949. He was born in Madison Township.

 

He married  in Madison Township June 30, 1915 to Grace Battles. Besides his widow he is survived by a son Elden R. Schalliol, a Mishawaka city school teacher; two brothers, Victor of Penn Township and Grover of Madison Township; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Hahn of Mishawaka and Mrs. Clem Mochel of Woodland, and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Ball Band Foreman’s Club and St. Andrew’s United Church in Christ

 

Friends may call at the Bent and Sprague Chapel after 7 p.m. today and until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to St. Andrew’s Church. Rev. Donald Grunwald, pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Grange.
