14, 1912 - Nov. 10, 2009MISHAWAKA - SchautErmaC., 97, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Tuesday, November 10th, after an accident. Erma was born on May 14, 1912, in Brussels, Belgium, to Raymond and Louise Ranschaert. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gerald Schaut; and a brother, Cyril Ranschaert. She married August P. Schaut, who preceded her in death in March 1967. Surviving her are a son, Richard (Sandy) Schaut, daughter, Sylvia Morrow and son, Charles Schaut, all of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marty (Donald) Easterling of Tucson, AZ. Erma worked for Foamcraft before she retired in 1974. She was a caring, loving mother, grandmother and sister. Erma could bring a smile to your face with her reminiscing. She loved spending her time embroidering, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Family and friends may visit on Friday, November 13th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dan Puckett officiating.
