Louise C. Scheibelhut

Sept. 26, 1921 - May 8, 2000

Louise C. Scheibelhut, 78, of South Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 3:50 p.m. on Monday, May 8, in her residence.

Mrs. Scheibelhut was born on Sept. 26, 1921, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Romolo and Antonia (Savadori) Baldoni. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Angeline Mercantini, Bina Garatoni, Carla Baldoni, Diva Baldini; and by a brother, Edward Baldoni. On Nov. 27, 1952, in Emanuel Baptist Church, Mishawaka, as the former Louise Baldoni, she married Joseph Scheibelhut, who also preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1980.

Mrs. Scheibelhut is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Dave Hanlon of Amherst, N.H.; four grandsons, Joshua Allen, Justin Allen, Bruce Hanlon and Edward Hanlon; two granddaughters, Carlene Stewart and Jennifer Lamber; and by several loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Scheibelhut graduated from Mishawaka High School and also from New York University School of Interior Design. She was a self-employed interior decorator. She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, and a member of A.A.R.P. Mrs. Scheibelhut enjoyed working in her yard, reading, and traveling. She loved sports, enjoyed life and new experiences.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where wake prayers will be at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Friday, May 12, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
