William C. Scheibelhut

Friends of William C. Scheibelhut, 68, of 26410 Sweetbrier, Edwardsburg, may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Bill Remmel will officiate. Graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 365, Edwardsburg, at the Edwardsburg Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Kokomo. He married Lura Jean Kissinger on Aug. 30, 1941 in South Bend. She survives with one daughter, Martha J. Ewing, Portage, Mich.; and two sons, William E. and John W., both of South Bend; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette A. Kronweitter; and one Brother, John “Jack”, both of Edwardsburg. His sister, Sister Mary Florence Scheibelhut, died Dec. 10, 1985.

Mr. Scheibelhut was a machinist at Bendix Corp., South Bend, having retired in 1975. He moved to Edwardsburg from South Bend in 1848. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the American Legion.
