SOUTH BEND - Jacqueline J. Schellinger, 81, died July 25 in Paradise, CA. She was born on March 15, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Herbert S. Porter and Edith M. Wittner. She was a retired bookkeeper and a high school graduate. She was also an avid reader, and loved gardening, quilting, sewing, knitting and cooking. She loved spending time with her three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include brothers, Herbert Porter Jr. of Indiana, and Charles (Iris) Porter of Minnesota; brother-in-law, Norbert Schellinger of Indiana; daughters, Linda (Tom) Rinker and Cindy Fleury, both of California and Jeri (Frank) McCallister of Idaho; grandchildren, Tracie Ularte, and Erin Pracna; and great-grandchildren, Abby Ularte and Caleb and Gracie Pracna, all of California; and several nephews and nieces.

Neptune Society of Northern California, Chico Branch handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of the US, 2100 L. Street NW, Washington, DC 20037; or any humane society or animal shelter.
