Rosemary Scheuer

MISHAWAKA - Rosemary Scheuer, 56, of Freeport, Ill., formerly of Mishawaka, died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Scheuer was a government affairs reporter for Pioneer Press Dispatch, St. Paul, Minn., and was a former employee of the LaPorte County Welfare Department. She was born May 24, 1939, in Mishawaka.

 

On June 10, 1966, in Mishawaka, as Rosemary Verslype, she married Nicholas G. Scheuer. He survives with two daughters, Laura DeMass of Michigan City and Ellen Scheuer of Freeport; a son, David P. of Burnsville, Minn.; two grandchildren; her parents, Mary A. and Henry A. Verslype of Mishawaka; and three brothers, John Verslype of El Paso, Texas, Phillip Verslype of Mishawaka and Paul Verslype of Centreville, Ohio. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's College and member of its Alumni Association and a member of American Association of University Women.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Freeport Cancer Center.
