WOODLAND - Dudley D. Schlarb, 72, of New Road, Woodland, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at his residence after an illness.

Mr. Schlarb was born on Aug. 17, 1923, in Woodland, Ind. and was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 9, 1957, in South Bend, he married Mary Anne Swartbaugh, who died Aug. 4, 1981.

Mr. Schlarb is survived by two sons, Brian and Dale Schlarb, both of Woodland, Ind.; a grandson Bradley Schlarb; and a sister, Betty Black of Centerville, Ohio.

Mr. Schlarb was employed by Great Lakes Heating & Air-Conditioning Company of South Bend for 22 years, retiring from the Sheet Metal Workers Union in 1986, and was a self-employed farmer.

Visitation will be at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth St., Mishawaka, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., today. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John United Church of Christ with Rev. Ken Seiffertt officiating, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Woodland.

Mr. Schlarb was a member of Madison Township Lions Club and St. John United Church of Christ Church, Woodland. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
