Mrs. Katherine Schlarb       

Mrs. Katherine Schlarb, age 64, formerly of Center township, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Kish, Jr., 425 Blaine avenue, at 4 o'clock this morning, following an illness of several weeks.   She was the daughter of mr. and Mrs. Christian Horien, of Madison township, this county, and was born Dec 23, 1861, in Madison township.  She had lived in South Bend for eight years, coming to this city from Center township.  She was the widow of Philip Schlarb.  She is survivied by the following children; John Schlarb, of Madison township; Mrs. William Barnhart, Levi Schlarb, Walther Schlarb and Mrs. Kish, all of South Bend; Howard E. Schlarb , of Jacksonville, Fla.;  20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. William R. Schaefer and Mrs. George Schaefer, of Union township, this county, Mrs. Lloyd Wilkenson, of Wayzata, Minn; Mrs. Philip Horien and David Horien, of Elkhart, Ind.; Julius Horien and Henry Horien, of Bremen, Ind.; Charles Horien, of Mishawaka; Mrs. Jacob Schalliol, Mrs. Jacob Horien, and Mrs. Joseph Horien all of Madison township.  Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Kish, at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, and at St. Peter's Evangelical church at 10 o'clock., Rev. W. E. G. Webbink officiating.  Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery, four files south of South Bend.
