William J. Schlarb

Nov. 8, 1915 - Sept. 13 , 1996

William J. Schlarb, 80, of Lake Worth, Fla., passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Schlarb was born on Nov. 8, 1915, near Wyatt, Ind. He was a farmer in St. Joseph County for over 50 years. Mr. Schlarb operated fruit and vegetable markets at his home near Wyatt and on U.S. 31 South of South Bend for over 40 years.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leila Hawkins Schlarb of Lake Worth, Fla.; daughter Carolyn Simons of Lake Worth; granddaughter Darla Simons of West Palm Beach, Fla.; grandson Ron Simons and his wife Jane of Wyatt; sisters Mary Ruffner of Zeeland, Mich., and Dorothy Helyer of Anaheim, Calif.; brothers Keith Schlarb of Bremen and Don Schlarb of Mishawaka.

A memorial funeral service will be conducted in the near future at St. John United Church of Christ in Woodland. The family prefers, if you wish, contributions to St. John United Church of Christ or to Hospice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the E.
