SOUTH BEND -- Pauline L. Schleis, 95,
of Inwood Hill Estates, formerly of W. Washington St., South
Bend, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, in St. Joseph
Regional Medical Center.
Pauline was born October 12, 1911, in Burr
Oak, Michigan to the late Frank and Ella (Hagen) Ahlgrim.
On December 3, 1939, in South Bend, Pauline
married James L. Schleis, who died May 18, 2002. She is also
preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Benchick; a
sister, Martha Dawson; and two brothers, Lester and Otto
Ahlgrim. She is survived by her son, James (Sue) Schleis of South
Bend; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 13
great-great- grandchildren. Pauline had worked at National Bank
as a teller for 20 years. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran
Church.
Private family visitation and services were
held at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South
Bend, IN 46616. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
