SCHOONAERT’S BODY FOUND


Canadian Police Recover River Victim


Canadian police Saturday recovered the body of Donald Schoonaert, 35, of 910 Sylvan Lane, from the English River in Ontario.   Schoonaert, a partner in Alexanian Brothers, a carpet cleaning firm at 421 S. Eddy St., was drowned in the river May 21 while on a fishing trip 35 miles north of Ignace, Ont.   The body is being brought to the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday by Santa Maria Council 553 and at 8 p.m. the rosary will be recited by Rev. Joseph Lesniak.   Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Lesniak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.   Surviving are his wife Jeanne, two sons at home, Dean and Gary, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Rene Schoonaert, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma DeLee, all of South Bend.
