NEW CARLISLE - John A. Schroeder, 62, of U.S. 20 East, died of natural causes Thursday afternoon in his home. Mr. Schroeder retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Chicago and had lived in New Carlisle since 1971.
On April 28, 1962, in Chicago, he married Janice C. Martin. She survives with two daughters, Carole Moran of Three Oaks and Kristen E. Schroeder of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a son, J. Andrew of Vincennes, Ind.; and a granddaughter. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Michiana Sea Cadets and the Navy League.
Private graveside services and burial will be today at New Carlisle Cemetery. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy League or Michiana Sea Cadets.
