Verna P. Schultz: (South Bend Tribune 3/19/1989)


Services for Verna P. Schultz, 86, of 826 S. 26th St., who died about 11:20 a.m. Friday in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., where members of St. Monica’s will hold a wake service at 3:45 p.m. She was a meat wrapper for Greenwood Supermarket for 15 years before retiring in 1967. She was born Jan. 8, 1903, in Lydick and had lived in the area all her life. In 1924, in South Bend, as Verna Pawlicki, she married Loren A. Schultz Sr. He died in 1953. Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Murphy of South Bend and Joan Smith of Princeton, Minn.; three sons, Loren A. of Plymouth, Carl of Osceola and Dale of Florida; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
