Robert K. Schweisberger

Robert K. Schweisberger, 81, of Mishawaka, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in his home. Robert was born on March 23, 1921, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Edgar and Elsie (Foeckler) Schweisberger. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Nelson, and a brother, Gerald Schweisberger.

 

On Mach 21, 1947, in South Bend, he married the former Margaret Ferguson, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Penny (Mike) Inks of Wakarusa, IN; two grandsons, Keith and Glenn Inks of Wakarusa; three sisters, Evelyn Walker of South Bend, Phyllis Sterchi of South Bend and Shirley Ann Showalter of Goshen; and a brother, Cecil Schweisberger of Mishawaka.

 

Robert was a United States Army Veteran serving his country during WW II. He was serving in the Army Air Corps. Robert was a Mishawaka Fireman serving the city for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was also a member of the VFW Post 360. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

There will be no visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Warren Kirkwood of Albright United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, officiating. A private family burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
