April 22, 1925 - Jan. 20, 1999

Mrs. Mary L. Scott was born on April 22, 1925, in Osceola, Ark., to the late Kenny Smith and Cora Bolden-Smith.

She confessed a hop in Christ at an early age and in later years moved to Blytheville, Ark., and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

She was formerly employed at ACCO Blytheville Industries. She moved to Blytheville nearly 50 years ago from her childhood home in Osceola, Ark.

She departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

She leaves to cherish her home-going: a sister, Mrs. Carrie Taylor (brother-in-law, Nelson Taylor) of South Bend, Ind.; two nieces, Mrs. Neely of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Brenda Clark of South Bend; three nephews, James Taylor, Michael Taylor and Wiley Ware, all of South Bend; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a very dear friend, Robert Moss.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Alford's Mortuary, with visitation occurring one hour prior to services.

Alford's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
