Rosemary Scott

GRANGER - Rosemary (Wuergler) Scott, 59, called Granger/South Bend, IN, home even when she moved to Cranberry Township, PA, in 2004. She died Friday in Allegheny General Hospital due to complications from a household accident. Rosemary was born on September 12, 1948, to Emil and Julia (Sulok) Wuergler. She was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana.

 

On September 14, 1974, she married Lennie Scott, who survives in Pennsylvania. Rosemary is also survived by her two daughters, Kimberly (Patrick) Higdon of Albany, NY, and Amanda (Clint) Wilson of Greenwood, IN; two granddaughters, Julia Rose, 6, and Madeline Higdon, 4, of Albany; three brothers, David (Germaine) Wuergler of Granger, Art (Gail) Wuergler of South Bend and Gene Wuergler of South Bend; and countless other family and friends who loved her dearly. Rosemary graduated from Clay Washington High School in 1966 and then attended Ivy Tech where she earned her nursing degree. For many years she worked as a nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital and a local family practice clinic. She was very actively involved with the Catholic Church. At St. Pius her time on the bereavement committee helped numerous families as they coped with the loss of a loved one. She also worked at Christ the King. Rosemary enjoyed gardening, Notre Dame football or any other sport, spending time with her grandchildren, and caring for her family and friends. Rosemary will be remembered for her smile, kindness, selfless nature and giving heart. Her giving continues today as more than 100 people will enjoy a better quality of life thanks to the gift of her tissue and organs.

 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Pius X Catholic Church. There will be a visitation in the church one hour prior. Burial will be at St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, in McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Church for the bereavement committee, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530; or to Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
