Mary R. Seago

Mary Ruth Seago, 81, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Friday, September 30, 2005, in the Alterra Sterling House.

Mrs. Seago was born on March 30, 1924, in Owensboro, Ky., to the late Ed and Stella Livers.

On May 29, 1948, as Mary Ruth Livers, she married John Joseph Seago, who preceded her in death April 10, 2000. Along with her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara J. Rich, and a brother, Martin A. Livers.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Ann Brown of Annapolis, MD; son, John Robert "Bob" Seago of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Phyllis A. Toth of Mishawaka and Dorothy M. Lind of Cleveland, OH; three grandchildren, Kathryn Marie Seago of SB, Andrew Rossback and Joshua Seago, both of Annapolis, Md.; two brothers-in-law, Richard L. (Rita) Seago and Louis M. Seago Sr. of SB; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary, along with her husband, was the owner and operator of the Whispering Pines Kennel for 26 years, and retired in 1988. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, October 6, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 7, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
