South Bend-Verna P. Seifert, 90, of Healthwin Specialized Car Facility, formerly of King Street, died Monday in the nursing home of natural causes. Survivors include two sons, Robert of South Bend and Ronald of Roscommon, Mich. A memorial service will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Verna P. Seifert, 90, of 1401 King Street, South Bend, Ind., died following an extended illness at 11 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility.
 Mrs. Seifert was born on March 4, 1909, in South Bend, to Charles and Helen (Kuss) Fenska, and was a lifetime area resident.
 On Feb. 9, 1935, in South Bend, as Verna P. Fenska, she married Otto “Pie” Seifert, former South Bend educator and city tennis director. He preceded her in death in 1973.
 She is survived by two sons, Robert Seifert of South Bend and Ronald Seifert of Roscommon, Mich., and by a granddaughter, Erika Seifert of Roscommon.
 Mrs. Seifert was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Martha Circle of the church, Goodwill Woman’s Guild, Schools Men’s Wives Club, South Bend Garden Club, and Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Center.
 Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 225 E. Haney Street, South Bend, IN 46613. Rev. David Doane of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.
