Amelia Cittadine Selis

MISHAWAKA - Amelia Cittadine Selis, 78, of West 12th Street, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday in her home after an illness. Mrs. Selis was employed by Bendix Corp. for 10 years and was a self-employed beautician for 30 years. She was born Feb. 9, 1916, in Ferrantino, Italy, and lived in Mishawaka since 1920, coming from Italy.

 

On Feb. 8, 1936, in Mishawaka, as Amelia Glassi, she married Joseph Cittadine. He died Nov. 20, 1977. On June 21, 1980, she married Hubert Selis, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Joanne M. Rose of Elkhart; a son, Gerald Cittadine of Lafayette, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Virginia Cole of Mishawaka; a stepson, Robert of San Diego; five grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.

 

She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, Four Lakes Country Club, Edwardsburg, Elks Club, Loyal Order of Moose, DeAmici's Club Auxiliary, National Hairdressers & Cosmetologists Association, and past president of Mishawaka Recreation Board.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or American Cancer Society.
