MISHAWAKA - Wilma E. Selis, 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 1st, at home. She was surrounded by her family. Wilma was born on December 13, 1916, in Elkhart, IN, to Albert and Theresa (Baksi) Matis. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and four brothers. On July 1, 1939, in St. Vincent's in Elkhart, as the former Wilma Matis, she married Frans Selis, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Judy (Mike) Garreffa, and a son, Jack (Sharon) Selis, both of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Selis; and five great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Hannah, Grace, Heidi and Paige. Wilma was a machine operator at Uniroyal for 20+ years. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, and the Good Fellows Auxiliary. Wilma was a loving, caring person. Family and friends may visit on Friday, Sept. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Rev. John Delaney in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. As per Wilma's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN 46617.
