Sister M. Cletus CSC, 81, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, 1300 E. Erskine Manor Hill, died at 7:20 p.m.  Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after an illness. Born Mary Margaret Sells on June 15, 1905, in Logan, Ohio, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Feb. 2, 1936, coming from Logansport, Ind. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1936, and took her final vows Aug. 15, 1938. She was assigned to various support services throughout her community life. She was assigned to St. Mary’s Convent for 12 years, where she fluted the white caps that were a distinctive part of the order’s religious habit. She was assigned to St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Ind. where she was director of central supply and remained in that position until 1968. She was then assigned to Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, where she was in charge of sewing and assisting in the dietary department. She served in the convent until her recent illness.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with internment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends may call Sunday from 1 p.m. until services, in St. Mary’s Convent, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
