June 3, 1950 - Jan. 4, 2010SOUTH BEND - Colleen M. Seltzer, 59, of Rudyard, MI, died Monday, January 4, 2010, in her home. She was born June 3, 1950, in South Bend, IN. Colleen loved hiking with family and friends on the North Country Trail. She built trails, led hikes, and attended H.S.S. meetings. Colleen was adept at flora and fauna identification. She also enjoyed watching birds, fishing, cross country skiing, and working in her large flower and vegetable garden. Colleen leaves behind her husband, Brent Seltzer, who she married on May 5, 1990; three children, Lukas Seltzer of Rudyard, Christy (Jeff) Roberts of Mishawaka and Steven Hosea of Mishawaka; and six grandchildren, Selena Kronwitter and Lyndsie Hosea, Lacie Hosea, LeAnna Hosea, Logan Hosea and Nicole Robinson. Also surviving are her mother, Kathleen Deal of Mishawaka; three sisters, Joyce (Tony) Sirko of South Bend, Michele Deal of South Bend and Diane Verstraete of Mishawaka; and three brothers, Terrence (Claire) Deal of Elkhart, IN, Christopher Deal of South Bend and Kevin (Annette) Deal of Mishawaka. Colleen was preceded in death by her daughter, April Lynn Seltzer; granddaughter, Alexis Kronwitter; father, Lawrence Deal; sister Janet Mark; and brothers, Tim Deal, Mike Deal and Dave Deal. Services will be held Tuesday, January 12, in Grace Community Church, 4001 Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka, IN. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 P.M. with the funeral service to begin at 6 P.M.
