Gary L. Seltzer

April 8, 1945 -- Dec. 19, 2005

Gary L. Seltzer, 60, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully at 10:26 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in his residence after a short battle with cancer.

Gary was born on April 8, 1945, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Donald and Marjorie (Geldner) Seltzer. During his nineteen-year marriage to the former Mary Lou Scheibelhut, two children, Jason and Kristi Seltzer of Mishawaka, were born. His parents and brother, Vaughn Seltzer, have preceded him in death.

Gary had a lifelong love of camping, hunting and fishing that led him to be active in Ducks Unlimited for many years. He was a former employee of Bubb Funeral Chapel, where he worked as a funeral director. He was later employed as a driver for Horizon Transport in Wakarusa. Perhaps the most rewarding job of his life was caring for his ailing mother in her home until her death.

Gary will be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends, including his children, Kristi and Jason Seltzer; former wife, Mary Lou Seltzer; devoted girlfriend, Gail Kronewitter; and many hunting and fishing buddies.

Visitation will be held in Bubb Funeral Chapel North on Wednesday, December 28th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following.

Memorial gifts in Gary's memory may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County
