SOUTH BEND - Julia M. Serritella, 81, of Meridian Nursing Center-Eastlake, Elkhart, formerly of South Bend, died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday in the nursing center.
Mrs. Serritella was born June 11, 1914, in Alberta, Canada, and lived in South Bend most of her life.
On Feb. 7, 1932, in South Bend, as Julia M. Pachika, she married Joseph Serritella. He died Jan. 21, 1988. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ebbole of Elkhart and Marlene Tokay of Santa Fe, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Newberry of Land O'Lakes, Fla., and Elizabeth Nowitsch of Union City, Ohio; and a brother, Anthony Pachika of Lakeland, Fla. She was a member of Fulkerson Park Baptist Church, Niles, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m.
