Joseph C. Sheffield

Jan. 10, 1927 - Feb. 12, 1997

Joseph C. Sheffield, 70, of South Bend, Ind., died on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in St. Joseph's Medical Center.

He married Ada Tarrant on Dec. 14, 1952, in Cardwell, Mo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 1995. A son, Clifton Dale Sheffield, also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Marlin Sheffield of South Bend; two grandchildren; three brothers, William J. Sheffield of Rector, Ark., Carl M. Sheffield of Bellville, Mo., and Glynn D. Sheffield of Jacksonville, Ark.

Mr. Sheffield graduated in 1950 from Harding University in Searcy, Ark. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the medical detachment of the 767th Tank Battalion, U.S. Army.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Donmoyer Avenue Church of Christ, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

He was a member and deacon of the church.

Memorials may be made to the Schultz-Lewis Children's Home.
