Sevilla L. Sherk, 84, of Laurel Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, in St. Joseph Community Hospital. She was born on Feb. 25, 1914, in Milford, Ind., and had lived in this area most of her life. She retired as a key punch operator having worked at Wheelbrator, Studebaker and retiring from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Sevilla was a member of the former Boots and Saddle Club, and St. Peter Lutheran Church.

 

Sevilla married John D. May in St. Peter Lutheran Church on July 24, 1935. He died on Feb. 3, 1950. She then married Harold Sherk in 1971. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Maudie (Barker) Rush; a daughter, Patricia Pauline on April 27, 1972; and by two sisters, Gertrude King on Dec. 28, 1979, and Joy Andrews on Jan. 18, 1999. Sevilla is survived by a daughter, Gloria McLoughlin of Mishawaka; a son, John Henry May of Osceola, Ind.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and by her sister, Marguerite May of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kenneth Mangelsdorf officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
