Robert A. Sherman

Feb. 13, 1949 - Oct. 13, 2000

Robert A. Sherman, 51, of West Donaldson Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

Robert was with Janco Composites for several years, and was formerly employed with the Allied Signal Corporation for 15 years.

Robert was born on Feb. 13, 1949, in South Bend, Ind., and had been a lifetime area resident. His father, Phillip B. Sherman, died on Oct. 4, 1981; and his mother, Kathryn M. (Krieger) Sherman, died on Oct. 8, 1998.

On Aug. 15, 1992, in South Bend, Robert married Lois Yost, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Sarah (Troy) McKinney of South Bend and Jodie Lucas of Mishawaka; two sons, Ben (Heather) Sherman of South Bend and Sam Sherman of Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren, Troy Jr., Hannah and Ashley; and by a brother, Herbert B. Sherman of South Bend.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the the HICKEY FUNERAL HOMES, 17131 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Robert Bassler officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind.

Robert was a memeber of American Legion Post 161 and a Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a 1967 graduate of John Adams High School.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
