Helen M. Shively, 85, of 5366 N. State Road 19, Etna Green, Ind., passed away at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home of Warsaw, Ind., after an illness of two months.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1915, at Warsaw, to Wilbur and Pearl Ulmer Love. She married Sept. 21, 1937, to John Ira Shively, who passed away Sept. 28, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Love.

She was a resident of Etna Green for the past 48 years. She was a homemaker, and she was a member of the Etna Green United Methodist Church. She graduated from Etna Green High School in 1933 and had been a member of the Warsaw Junior Homemakers.

She is survived by her two children, Jay and Pam Shively, and Larry and Sue Shively, all of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Stacy Kern of Fort Wayne, Ind., Jody Shively of Warsaw and Todd Shively of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by two great-grandchildren, Austin Shively and Ben Kern.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Deaton Funeral Home, Bourbon, Ind., with Pastor Richard Borgman officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Deaton Funeral Home, 115 S. Main Street, Bourbon. Burial will follow at the Etna Green Cemetery of Etna Green.

The family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Etna Green United Methodist Church.
