Mrs. Julia Shoemaker, 77, Argos, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the Parkview Hospital in Plymouth shortly after admittance.  She was born March 27, 1898 in South Bend to August and Agnes Torok. Her first marriage was to Oscar Peltz. He died in 1942. Her second marriage was to Joseph Shoemaker in 1957. He died in 1968. She had lived in Argos and Tippecanoe communities since 1928, moving from South Bend. She was a member of the Jolly Over 50 club.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. George (Hazel) Utter, Plymouth; Mrs. Alex (Evelyn) Kovachezich, South Bend; Mrs. Julius (Betty) Smiley, Tippecanoe; Mrs. Marge Testo, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Millie Kannoot, Mishawaka; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren. Two daughters proceeded in death.

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos. The Rev. Robert Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland cemetery in South Bend. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
