Sister M. Patricia Clare Shore CSC

Sister M. Patricia Clare (Bridget Ann Shore) CSC was born in Kilkenny, Ireland, March 25, 1896, the daughter of Robert Shore and Johanna Doyle. She entered the Congregation, July 31, 1920, from Coon, Ireland. She became a citizen of the United States, July 8, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died at Saint Mary's Convent, Notre Dame, Indiana, February 11, 1972, and is interred in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Indiana.

 

Sister Patricia Clare was an elementary school teacher. She taught at Assumption School, South Bend, Indiana; Sacred Heart Academy, Ogden, Utah; Saint Teresa's Academy, Boise, Idaho; Holy Rosary School, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Saint Ann's Orphanage, Salt Lake City, Utah; Immaculate Conception School, Sacramento, California; Saint Matthew's School, San Mateo, California; Saint John's School, Fresno, California; Stella Maris Academy, LaJolla, California; Saint Agnes School, Los Angeles, California; and Holy Rosary School, Woodland, California.

 

Sister had seven relatives who entered the Congregation; - three sisters, Sister M. Gerard (Shore) CSC. [ April 7, 1969], Sister Patricius (Shore) CSC [ died November 15, 1969], Sister Josetta (Shore) CSC [died November 2, 1984]; an aunt, Sister M. Fintan (Doyle) CSC [died December 6, 1937]; and three cousins, Sister M. Ita (Doyle) CSC [died January 6, 1987], Sister Canice (Doyle) CSC [died January 13, 1980], and Sister Carmelyn (Doyle) CSC [died July 2, 1959].
