James Sibert

May 14, 1932 - Oct. 18, 2002

James Sibert, 70, of Lucinda Street, South Bend, passed away Friday, October 18, 2002 at Memorial Hospital. He was born May 14, 1932 in South Bend to Charles and Elsie (Garret) Sibert Sr., who have both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother; Charles Sibert Jr., and two sisters; Aletha Redman and Marquerite Britton.

In February 1953, James married Pat Burks in Osceola, Ind. He was an Army veteran. He had received a Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service medal and National Defense Service medal. James retired from Bayer Corporation as a machinist.

James is survived by three daughters; Pam (Chuck) Hoehn of Beecher, Ill., Cathy Sibert of South Bend, and Beth (Ron) Modglin of Columbia City, Ind., and seven grandchildren; Josh and Carrie Bechtel, Adam, Michael and Nicholas Hoehn; Ryan and Justin Modglin.

Friends may gather between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Monday, October 21st to visit with family at THE ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 Ireland Road. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon.
