Christopher A. Signorino

Mishawaka - Christopher A. Signorino, 80, of North Oakland Avenue in Mishawaka, passed away at his residence of natural causes on Feb. 25. Christopher was born July 28, 1924 to Rossario and Lora (Agata) Signorino in Mishawaka.

 

On Oct. 19, 1945, in Oakland, Calif., he married Luise A. Schmidt. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, sister Frances Steed and brothers Gasper Signorino, Mike Signorino, and Joseph Signorino.

 

Surviving is his loving wife Luise; daughters, Carole A. (Lawrence) Watson of South Bend, Toni A. Heinzman of Mishawaka; son, Frank A. (Katherine) Signorino of Mishawaka; sister, Mary VanOotegham of Mishawaka; grandsons, James Kalil and Scott Kalil; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kalil, Olivia Kalil, Gabrielle Kalil, Cassie Kalil and A.J. Kalil.

 

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today in Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Ind. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in Chapel Hill. Interment will be private at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

 

Christopher was retired from the U.S. Navy. He spent his retirement years working at Studebakers, Brandt-Shawl Plumbing and Heating, and more recently at Lowes. In the service he worked on many vessels such as USS Coral Sea, USS Anzio, and USS Taconic. Where he received many medals American Area, Good Conduct, Asiatic Pacific Area & 6 Stars, Philippine Liberation, Victory W.W.II. He was a member at DeAmici Club in Mishawaka. Christopher was surely loved and will be greatly missed.
